BSI Racing Prepares for Key Weekend at Barber Motorsports Park
Birmingham, AL — BSI Racing will compete in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park, a challenging 2.3-mile, 17-turn road course. Tyler Gonzalez enters this round sitting fifth in the championship standings, well-positioned as the series continues its 2024 season.
Joining Gonzalez are promising talents including 2024 Rookie of the Year contender Westin Workman, 2025 Shootout runner-up Helio Meza, Christian Hodneland, Ethan Tyler, and Damon Ockey. Workman, coming off a strong P2 finish at Circuit of the Americas, aims to build on his momentum.
Team owner Shea Holbrook commented, “The championship race is on. We’ve seen the podium twice this season, and we know what we’re capable of. I expect great results this weekend at one of the most beautiful tracks in the country.”
This race marks a significant event as it coincides with the IndyCar series, enhancing the weekend’s excitement for fans. The team’s onsite activities will begin with unloading on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by a track walk and practice sessions on Friday. All races will be broadcast live on YouTube, IMSA.tv, and racer.com throughout the season.
