CrowdStrike Racing Aims for LMP2 Victory at Rolex 24 At Daytona
CrowdStrike Racing by APR is set to launch its 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship campaign with a renewed focus on capturing its first win in the LMP2 category at the iconic Rolex 24 At Daytona. The team has come painfully close in previous years, with finish times separated by mere fractions of a second.
The formidable lineup of the No. 04 ORECA 07-Gibson includes CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz, Peugeot Sport’s Malthe Jakobsen, Peugeot development driver Alex Quinn, and Toby Sowery. Collectively, they bring a wealth of experience and competitive spirit.
In recent editions of the Rolex 24, CrowdStrike has faced narrow defeats, finishing second by just 0.016 seconds in 2023, marking the closest finish in event history. A subsequent second-place finish in 2024, followed by an early exit due to an accident in the latest race, underscores the team’s resolve to finally secure a victory.
“The Rolex 24 at Daytona is still the one that got away,” Kurtz remarked, reflecting on their near-misses. “We’re going in wanting to win the watch… our testing was productive, focusing on the fastest setup for all four drivers. I have been there quite a few times now and, having missed out on the win by just 0.016s in 2023, I’m keen to get that monkey off my back.”
Jakobsen acknowledged the team’s cumulative experience and the need for a steady approach: “There is unfinished business… but it is possible to be too hungry for a win. We must stay calm and keep it clean in the race.”
Extensive testing at Daytona and Sebring has instilled confidence in the team. Sowery stated, “Over the past couple of seasons, we have really grown as a team and developed a great dynamic… I feel we have put together a great 2026 package, one I’m confident will contest for wins straight out of the box at Daytona.”
Quinn, who joins the program after competing alongside the team in select IMSA races, expressed enthusiasm for the season ahead: “We have a great team behind us and a strong driver line-up. We just need to focus on ourselves to maximize our chances of being on top at the end of the 24 hours.”
As the team prepares for the upcoming season, all eyes will be on CrowdStrike Racing to see if they can finally claim the coveted Rolex 24 victory.
