Marcus Ericsson Joins Wayne Taylor Racing for Rolex 24 at Daytona

Marcus Ericsson, 2022 Indianapolis 500 champion and full-time IndyCar driver for Andretti Global, will complete Wayne Taylor Racing’s lineup for the iconic Rolex 24 at Daytona in January. He will drive the No. 45 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 alongside teammates Danny Formal, Trent Hindman, and Graham Doyle.

“I’m super excited to be back racing with Wayne Taylor Racing for the legendary Rolex 24 hours,” said Ericsson. “This will be my third appearance in the Daytona 24, but my first in the GTD class. I’m grateful to Wayne, Travis, and DEX for this opportunity.”

The 64th running of the Rolex 24 marks Ericsson’s first entry in the GTD category, following his last outing in 2024 with WTR’s Acura ARX-06 in GTP. Wayne Taylor, co-owner of the team, expressed his enthusiasm: “We are lucky to have Marcus. He’s a great addition to the GTD program, and I believe we have a strong chance for a podium with our experienced drivers and crew.”

Dan Towriss, CEO of TWG Motorsports, which encompasses both Andretti Global and Wayne Taylor Racing, emphasized the significance of Ericsson joining the team, highlighting the synergy within their motorsports portfolio.

The combination of Ericsson’s experience and the established team dynamics promises to be a formidable presence in the endurance classic, with all eyes on Daytona in January.
