2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Entry Lists Revealed

At the annual IMSA State Of The Series conference, held at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta ahead of the Motul Petit Le Mans, IMSA unveiled the full-season and Endurance Cup entry lists for the 2026 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. A total of 45 entries have been confirmed for the full season across four categories, with 54 cars expected to compete in the Michelin Endurance Cup rounds.

GTP Class Insights

The 2026 GTP field will feature 11 cars from five manufacturers: Acura, BMW, Cadillac, Porsche, and Aston Martin. Notable changes include the absence of the Lamborghini SC63, previously campaigned by Riley, as well as Proton’s privately entered Porsche 963. Team WRT will replace Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing at BMW. Porsche Penske Motorsport is set to field two cars after its departure from the FIA WEC Hypercar class. Cadillac, Acura, and Aston Martin will return with their 2025 configurations, while JDC-Miller Motorsports adds a single privateer entry with a Porsche 963.

LMP2 Class

The LMP2 class remains robust with 12 full-season entries from 11 teams. United Autosports USA is the only two-car entry, while teams like CrowdStrike Racing by APR, Tower Motorsports, and Intersport Racing will each field a single car. Notable newcomers include Intersport, Bryan Herta Autosport, and Team Tonis, the latter stepping up to a full-time effort after their debut at Road America.

GTD PRO and GTD Class Structure

The GTD PRO class consists of eight full-season entries plus four Michelin Endurance Cup entries. Corvette Racing and Ford Multimatic will field two cars each, alongside single entries from Paul Miller Racing, Pfaff Motorsports, Vasser Sullivan Racing, and AO Racing. Noteworthy endurance entries include Manthey Racing’s dual efforts in both GTD PRO and GTD categories.

The GTD category remains the largest, featuring a 14-car full-season grid with five additional Michelin Endurance Cup entries. Teams such as Vasser Sullivan Racing and Heart of Racing Team will compete, while DragonSpeed transitions from GTD PRO to GTD.
