Lamborghini Motorsports Leadership Transition: Maurizio Leschiutta to Depart by Year-End

In a significant shift within Lamborghini’s motorsport division, Maurizio Leschiutta will resign as head of motorsport at the end of this calendar year. Leschiutta, who took the role in January 2023 following Giorgio Sanna’s departure, has overseen the brand’s GT and prototype initiatives while also managing the SC63 program, which was put on hold after a partial IMSA GTP season.

Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini’s chief technical officer, will temporarily resume the head of motorsport role until a suitable successor is appointed.

During his tenure, Leschiutta contributed notably to Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s achievements, including a landmark overall victory at the 2025 24 Hours of Spa alongside the Grasser Racing Team and drivers Mirko Bortolotti, Luca Engstler, and Jordan Pepper.

Additionally, Leschiutta spearheaded the development of the forthcoming Lamborghini Temerario GT3 and Temerario Super Trofeo models, set to debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2026 and in various Super Trofeo championships worldwide starting in 2027.

Lamborghini expressed gratitude for Leschiutta’s commitment and professionalism, wishing him success in future endeavors.
