Connor Zilisch Set for LMDh Debut at Daytona IMSA Test

NASCAR Xfinity runner-up Connor Zilisch will make his LMDh prototype debut at the IMSA-sanctioned test in Daytona from November 14-16. The 19-year-old will pilot the #31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R alongside co-drivers Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber, and Frederik Vesti.

Zilisch, who has achieved two LMP2 class victories in the IMSA SportsCar Championship, is being evaluated for a potential GTP drive with the factory Cadillac team ahead of the upcoming Daytona 24 Hours. “Hopefully, we’re going to make the most of it and see if this can lead to more opportunities for me in the Cadillac,” Zilisch remarked, expressing his aspiration to compete at the pinnacle of endurance racing.

The announcement coincides with Zilisch’s missed opportunity to drive the Cadillac LMDh at the World Endurance Championship’s Bahrain rookie test, attributed to insufficient ACCUS license points due to a championship loss to Jesse Love in NASCAR.

Zilisch is also slated to progress to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2026 with Trackhouse Racing, expected to replace Daniel Suarez. Additionally, fellow Cadillac Formula 1 reserve Colton Herta will participate in the Daytona test, shifting his focus to F2 next year after his success in endurance racing, including winning the 2024 Sebring 12 Hours. Herta will drive for Wayne Taylor Racing in the upcoming session.
