New Ownership Group Takes Helm at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) in Bowmanville, Ontario, has officially changed hands. A consortium led by Woodbridge Group co-chairman Peter Thomson, alongside Chris Pfaff of Pfaff Automotive Partners and Alek Krstic, has acquired the esteemed racetrack, historically known as Mosport.

The ownership transition follows the tenure of Canadian Motorsports Ventures Ltd., established by Carlo Fidani, Ron Fellows, and Lynda Fellows, who purchased the circuit from Dr. Don Panoz in June 2011. CTMP President and General Manager Myles Brandt and the current management team will remain in their roles to ensure continuity.

The new owners have pledged to uphold CTMP’s storied legacy while supporting its loyal fanbase and operational partners. In their statement, they emphasized a commitment to maintaining uninterrupted schedules and activities.

Future plans for CTMP, including long-term development and investment strategies, will be unveiled at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto from February 13-22. Pfaff highlighted their dedication to preserving the circuit’s character, stating, “We’re committed to respecting everything that makes CTMP special today, while building the foundation for an elevated experience in the years ahead.”

As the motorsport community anticipates these developments, the new ownership promises a comprehensive vision for CTMP’s role in Canadian motorsports and entertainment.
