Pfaff Motorsports Unveils Lamborghini Temerario GT3 at IMSA Sanctioned Test

Pfaff Motorsports marked a significant milestone by unveiling the Lamborghini Temerario GT3 at the IMSA Sanctioned Test, scheduled for January 20-21. The new machine will undergo evaluation alongside existing GTD PRO and GTD vehicles, vital for securing its certification for the 2026 race season.

Factory drivers Andrea Caldarelli and Marco Mapelli will pilot the Temerario GT3 during its initial track outings. Although it will not compete in the forthcoming Rolex 24 At Daytona, this test is crucial for the car’s development, with its competitive debut slated for March at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

Updates from Major Manufacturers

In addition to Lamborghini, Ford, Ferrari, and Porsche showcased their latest GT3 iterations at the test. Notably, the Ford Mustang GT3 made its Daytona debut featuring enhancements such as new front diveplanes for increased downforce and updated endurance headlights. Ford Racing has withheld comments pending the official homologation process but has confirmed other mechanical updates to the platform.

Ferrari’s 296 GT3 Evo unveiled several aerodynamic enhancements, including a redesigned swan-neck rear wing and revised side mirrors—all aimed at improving race capability in traffic. Factory driver Alessio Rovera emphasized the importance of these changes, stating, “Raceability is a really big problem with [the current car], and with the Evo, it will be a big step for us.”

Porsche also presented its newest 992.2-generation 911 GT3 R, featuring aerodynamic improvements like louvers in the front wheel arches for enhanced cooling and a four-millimeter Gurney flap for increased downforce. This evolution aims to boost stability under braking with revised suspension kinematics. Customer teams Manthey, Wright Motorsports, and RS1 have all equipped their vehicles with these enhancements.

This Sanctioned Test marks a pivotal moment for multiple manufacturers as preparations intensify for the upcoming race season.
