Motorsports Report: Andlauer Withdraws from Petit Le Mans Due to Medical Emergency
Porsche Penske Motorsport announced today that driver Julien Andlauer will not participate in the Motul Petit Le Mans due to a medical emergency. This absence impacts the No. 6 Porsche 963, in which Andlauer was scheduled to partner with GTP championship leaders Mathieu Jaminet and Matt Campbell.
In response to this development, Laurens Vanthoor, who was already slated to drive the No. 7 Porsche alongside Felipe Nasr and Nick Tandy, will take over driving duties for both factory entries. Vanthoor must adhere to the minimum drive time requirements in both vehicles; however, he will only be eligible to accumulate championship points with the No. 7 entry.
This adjustment comes as the championship battle intensifies, with the GTP standings closely contested. Further details on how this change will affect the team’s strategies and performance will be closely monitored throughout the race.
