Wayne Taylor Racing Unveils Driver Lineup for 2026 IMSA GTD Season

Wayne Taylor Racing (WTR) has confirmed its driver roster for the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD campaign, retaining Danny Formal, Trent Hindman, and Graham Doyle for the season. Formal and Hindman will serve as the full-season drivers for the No. 45 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, while Doyle will join them for the Michelin Endurance Cup events.

Following a season of mixed results in 2025, where the team secured its first GTD victory at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, WTR aims for improved performance. The No. 45 Lamborghini will take part in the upcoming IMSA Sanctioned Test at Daytona International Speedway, with a fourth driver for the Rolex 24 at Daytona to be named later.

In 2025, Formal and Hindman notched the team’s first win and achieved eight top-10 finishes, showcasing promising growth. “2025 was our first full season and we accomplished a lot,” stated team owner Wayne Taylor. “We’ve grown this program positively.”

Hindman reflected on the challenges of the previous season, emphasizing the importance of experiences gained. “Difficult moments are needed to lay the groundwork for future success. The team victory at CTMP was a major highlight,” he noted.

Formal highlighted the advancements made throughout the season, stating, “The improvements the team made were tremendous. We’re aiming for a different approach as we enter the last season of the Lamborghini Huracán.”

Lamborghini plans to continue supporting customer teams with the Huracán GT3 EVO2 in 2026, even as Pfaff Motorsports introduces the new Temerario GT3 for the GTD PRO category.

This focused approach positions WTR to build on its successes while addressing the lessons learned from past performances, setting the stage for a competitive season ahead.
