Nolan Siegel Cleared to Race in Toronto After Concussion Recovery
Nolan Siegel has been cleared by IndyCar medical staff to return to competitive racing this weekend in Toronto. The 20-year-old driver missed Race 2 of the Iowa Speedway doubleheader following a crash during the Synk 275, where he suffered a mild concussion after hitting the wall on lap 246.
Originally set to start fifth in the Farm to Fresh 275 on Sunday, Siegel’s performance in Iowa showcased his potential, as he had achieved three consecutive top-10 qualifying results, including his best at Road America with an eighth-place finish.
Arrow McLaren confirmed, “Nolan has been cleared by the IndyCar Medical Team to drive this weekend in Toronto.” He will pilot the No. 6 SmartStop Arrow McLaren Chevy, marking a significant sponsorship event for the team.
Currently, Siegel sits 21st in the championship standings with 156 points, holding a narrow lead over rookie Louis Foster, who needs to maintain his position in IndyCar’s Leaders Circle for end-of-season bonuses. If Siegel encounters further issues, Linus Lundqvist is on standby as the reserve driver, having recently competed for Chip Ganassi Racing.
This event promises to be pivotal as teams prepare for the unique challenges presented by the street circuit in Toronto.
