Conor Daly Faces Uncertainty as Rinus VeeKay Joins Juncos Hollinger Racing
In a significant team shift, Rinus VeeKay has been confirmed as the lead driver for Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR), a decision that leaves veteran Conor Daly seeking new opportunities in the IndyCar series. Daly, who has been with JHR since late 2024, expressed his support for VeeKay while simultaneously pursuing options for the upcoming season.
“I am happy for Rinus,” Daly stated. “I was hoping to continue with Juncos Hollinger, and I still am. They know that I’d like to stay and keep building together.” Despite uncertainty surrounding his future role with JHR, Daly emphasized his ongoing partnership with sponsor Arco am/pm, which he hopes will facilitate his presence in the series.
With Daly’s tenure at JHR potentially ending, his best prospects appear to be with Dale Coyne Racing, where he has previously competed. Daly noted, “I had a very long conversation with Dale Coyne today, and I always feel like Dale would love to have me back there.” He also mentioned that he remains in discussions with other teams, including Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, where he achieved a top-10 finish at the 2024 Indy 500.
Daly acknowledged the challenges of securing a full-season budget, stating, “We don’t have enough funding to fully sign anything on the dotted line for a full season’s budget.” However, he remains optimistic about competing, particularly in the Indianapolis 500, which he views as a viable target given potential opportunities.
As the offseason progresses, Daly’s focus will be on leveraging his experience and connections to remain competitive in the elite motorsports arena.
