Conor Daly’s Next Steps with Juncos Hollinger Racing

Conor Daly aims to build on his performance from the 2024 IndyCar Series as he seeks a second consecutive full-time season with Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR). The Indiana native delivered a strong showing on oval tracks, securing top-10 finishes in four out of six races and earning JHR its first podium in late 2024.

Despite his successes on ovals, Daly’s performance on road and street courses saw him finish 18th in the championship. This consistent placement mirrors JHR’s past three seasons, where previous drivers Romain Grosjean and Callum Ilott finished 17th and 16th, respectively. The team has made it clear that enhancing its road racing capabilities will be a priority moving into the next season.

Daly, 33, remains committed to JHR, emphasizing the importance of continuity in teamwork during the offseason. “We were able to raise some money for sure,” said Daly regarding his efforts to secure additional sponsorship after losing the Polkadot sponsorship deal. “But everyone still worked really hard, and it was really impressive.”

Reflecting on his competitive potential, Daly pointed out, “The car that the team gave me at the Indy 500 was capable of winning the race.” He noted that he has secured the most sponsorship funding of his career, positioning himself favorably for the upcoming season.

However, he is not alone in vying for a spot in the No. 76 JHR Chevy. Former Dale Coyne Racing driver Rinus VeeKay has been linked to AJ Foyt Racing, though recent uncertainty leaves him a potential candidate for both JHR and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. Meanwhile, 2024 IndyCar Rookie of the Year Linus Lundqvist is in discussions with multiple teams, including DCR, JHR, and RLL.

Daly’s teammate, Sting Ray Robb, is confirmed to return to the No. 77 Chevy next season, with strong indications from his management that he remains the only driver in contention for the seat.

As the driver market continues to evolve, Daly is proactively exploring all opportunities in IndyCar. “We have talked to every team that has an open seat or could have an open seat,” he noted, highlighting the competitive landscape ahead. His commitment to JHR is evident as he works to secure much-needed funding and show good faith to the organization that facilitated his return to full-time racing.

This offseason will be critical for Daly and JHR as they both seek to improve their standings and competitive viability in the series.
