David Malukas Making Strides in IndyCar Series

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — David Malukas continues to demonstrate his potential in the IndyCar Series as he navigates a pivotal season with AJ Foyt Racing. The 23-year-old driver from Illinois recorded a significant second-place finish at the Indianapolis 500 in May, marking a high point in his career and briefly placing him in the top 10 of the Drivers’ Championship.

However, Malukas faced challenges in subsequent races at Detroit and WWTR, which prevented him from maintaining that top position. Despite these setbacks, he has rebounded strongly, securing a seventh place at Road America, a fourth in Iowa, and a ninth in Toronto, which has propelled him back to 10th in the championship standings.

Malukas acknowledged the learning curve his team has faced this season. "It’s definitely been a good second half of the season,” he stated in an interview with RACER. “We’re learning a lot together in the first year… We’re still a pretty young team overall."

His consistent performance underscores the competitive nature of the Foyt program, as teammate Santino Ferrucci has also held the 10th position multiple times this season. The insights gained from their early mistakes appear to be translating into improved results as the season progresses.

As Malukas continues to build on his experience, he remains focused on capitalizing on every opportunity to elevate both his and the team’s performance.
