Ed Carpenter Racing to Relocate Headquarters to Westfield, Indiana
Westfield, Indiana – Ed Carpenter Racing (ECR) has announced plans to relocate its headquarters as part of the Grand Park District Master Plan. This move will position ECR as the first IndyCar Series team based in Hamilton County, enhancing its operational capabilities and fan engagement efforts.
The new facility will span 76,000 square feet, located south of the Grand Park Event Center along Grand Park Boulevard. It aims to serve as the heart of ECR’s racing operations, featuring advanced engineering and technical development areas alongside spaces for retail and fan interaction.
Key Features of the New Facility:
- A public viewing gallery providing insight into team operations.
- A full-service merchandise store.
- An on-site Java House café to enhance the fan experience.
- The construction of Hamilton County’s first city-funded parking garage to improve accessibility.
Groundbreaking is anticipated in early 2026, with the facility expected to be operational by early 2027.
ECR co-owner Ed Carpenter expressed enthusiasm for the new development: “We are very excited about this project and how it will impact the growth of ECR into the future. The opportunity to build a world-class facility within Grand Park was something we could not pass up.”
Ted Gelov, CEO of Heartland Food Products Group and member of ECR’s ownership group, emphasized the facility’s role as both a racing operations base and a hub for fan interaction: “This new headquarters will not only serve as the foundation for our racing operations but also as a place where fans can truly connect with our team.”
Westfield Mayor Scott Willis heralded ECR’s move as a significant accomplishment for the city, which will boost local opportunities and enhance Grand Park’s reputation as a premier destination for sports and innovation.
Currently, ECR competes in the 2025 IndyCar season with drivers Alexander Rossi and Christian Rasmussen, both of whom are under multi-year contracts. As of now, Rasmussen is 14th in the championship standings and has secured the team’s only podium finish this season, while Rossi ranks two spots behind.
This strategic relocation is anticipated to solidify ECR’s presence and operational excellence within the growing landscape of IndyCar racing.
