Indianapolis 500 Viewership Soars in FOX Debut

The inaugural airing of the Indianapolis 500 on FOX produced a significant surge in viewership, totaling an average of 7.05 million viewers. This marks the largest audience for the event in 18 years, surpassing the previous high of 7.245 million viewers in 2008 during Scott Dixon’s victory.

The broadcast witnessed a remarkable year-over-year increase of 40.3%, compared to last year’s 5.024 million viewers on NBC. The viewership peaked at 8.438 million during the final laps of the 200-lap race, won by Alex Palou of Chip Ganassi Racing.

This substantial growth underscores the enduring appeal of the Indianapolis 500, setting a promising tone for future broadcasts under the FOX banner.
