The IndyCar Series continues to demonstrate solid viewership, with the Java House Grand Prix of Monterey at Laguna Seca attracting an average audience of 734,000 viewers on FOX. This figure matches the audience from the previous week’s Honda Indy Toronto, marking a consistent trend for the series.
Out of the 14 races held this season, seven have averaged between 704,000 and 781,000 viewers. The audience metrics reveal a broader viewership landscape, with two races in the 500,000s (Long Beach, Iowa 1), one reaching 914,000 (Barber), three races exceeding 1,000,000 (St. Petersburg, Detroit, WWTR), and the iconic Indy 500 garnering 7,087,000 viewers.
Notably, the Laguna Seca race this year experienced an impressive 835 percent increase from last year’s broadcast on CNBC, which recorded an audience of just 78,547. The recent race peaked at 884,000 viewers between 2:15-2:30 PM PT.
Following IndyCar’s transition from NBC to FOX, the viewership increase stands at 31 percent, with average viewership growing from 1,132,000 to 1,486,000 across the 14 races.
As teams take a brief intermission, the championship battle resumes with the BitNile.com Grand Prix of Portland on August 10.
