IndyCar Ratings Remain Strong as Rasmussen Claims First Victory
IndyCar’s summer ratings on FOX continue to show resilience, averaging 779,000 viewers during last weekend’s Snap-on 250 broadcast from Milwaukee. This marks the fifth consecutive race on FOX to reach the 700,000 viewer threshold and the seventh of the last eight events to achieve similar numbers.
Christian Rasmussen of Ed Carpenter Racing secured his maiden IndyCar Series victory with a dramatic pass on reigning champion Alex Palou. This compelling finish contributed to the event’s impressive viewership, which peaked at 854,000 during the race’s closing laps.
In comparison, last year’s Milwaukee race—a doubleheader—averaged 735,209 viewers on NBC’s USA Network, with a mere 125,000 on Peacock for the Saturday event. The latest ratings reflect a 6% increase over last year’s Sunday viewership and underscore FOX’s growth in the IndyCar broadcast landscape.
Overall, FOX reports a year-over-year improvement of 28%, with an average of 1,376,000 viewers for the first 16 races of the season, compared to 1,073,000 across the same events in 2024 on NBC and its associated platforms. This trend highlights both the growing interest in IndyCar racing and the network’s effective outreach strategy.
