WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca Sees Ticket Sales Surge Ahead of IndyCar Event

Laguna Seca, CA – As the annual IndyCar event approaches, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca has reported a significant uptick in ticket sales. New president Mel Harder revealed that sales have improved by approximately 20% compared to the previous year, bolstered by a noticeable increase in attendance, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays.

Harder, who previously served as an IndyCar Series executive, emphasized the enhancements made to the fan experience. "Ticket sales are trending positive. It’s been really strong compared to what it was last year," he stated, noting the implementation of new amenities including live entertainment, a revamped promenade area, and improved accessibility with trams throughout the venue.

The upgrades extend to infrastructure, with newly paved areas, renovated restrooms, and a three-sided video pylon enhancing the overall experience for attendees. Harder remarked, "We want it to be a consistent and excellent experience with good entertainment," highlighting that this year’s autograph session has drawn record crowds.

Reflecting on his initial role in hosting the Java House Grand Prix of Monterey, Harder expressed optimism about the partnership with IndyCar. He acknowledged their strong media presence and relationships, particularly with FOX TV, as key contributors to ticket sales. "The interest we’re seeing on track is fantastic," he said, referencing top drivers like Alex Palou and Pato O’Ward.

With race day on the horizon, Harder remains committed to strengthening the ties between the series and the local community, aspiring for continued success in future events.
