Penske Racing Restructures Leadership for IndyCar and IMSA/WEC Programs
Roger Penske has announced significant leadership changes at Penske Racing as part of a strategic initiative to bolster the team across multiple racing platforms. Jonathan Diuguid, formerly a race engineer and a key architect of the successful Porsche Penske Motorsport (PPM) initiative, has been appointed president of Penske Racing. Travis Law, who previously served as chief mechanic to Josef Newgarden, is now the team’s competition director.
These appointments follow the recent dismissal of several senior executives, including former Penske Racing president Tim Cindric, amid efforts to enhance team performance. Diuguid has gained recognition for his role in developing the PPM program, which saw its inaugural season in 2023.
Diuguid expressed gratitude for the new role, stating, “The opportunity to lead the Team Penske efforts across the IndyCar Series, IMSA and WEC is a tremendous responsibility. The best way I know to show my appreciation for Roger Penske’s trust is to ensure our success continues.”
Travis Law, who transitioned into management at the end of 2022, emphasized the expectations at Team Penske: “Success is what is expected at Team Penske. I am ready to get to work.” His experience and ascent within the organization position him well to drive competitive results.
These leadership changes signal a renewed commitment from Penske Racing to maintain its elite status in motorsports as it approaches a pivotal season.
