Rahal Impresses with Fourth-Place Finish at BitNile.com Grand Prix of Portland
Portland, OR – Graham Rahal produced a remarkable comeback, finishing fourth at the BitNile.com Grand Prix of Portland after starting from 22nd. This result marks the best finish of the 2025 season for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL).
Rahal’s ascension through the field can be attributed to a strategic pit stop during the first caution period, allowing him to capitalize while most competitors remained on track. Throughout the 110-lap race, the No. 15 Honda showcased competitive pace, placing Rahal in contention against frontrunners from Team Penske, Arrow McLaren, and Chip Ganassi Racing.
“This is nice to have good strategy, but great pace, too,” Rahal stated to RACER. “We made the right strategy calls, and when we got with the lead group, we were able to beat a lot of them on their own game. Total team performance, so I’ll certainly take it.”
The fourth-place finish allows Rahal to improve his standing in the championship to 15th, a critical boost as the season progresses to the final races in Milwaukee and Nashville. Rahal expressed optimism that this performance will bolster the team’s confidence amid a challenging season.
“For these guys in particular, the mental side of this, and the relief that comes with something like this is huge,” Rahal reflected, acknowledging the significance of the result for his crew. “It was nice to complete the task. We’ve still got two more races to go, and hopefully we can have a strong finish to put this year to bed.”
Rahal’s strong outing in Portland positions him to potentially climb into the top 12 in the standings, should he continue to capitalize on the upcoming opportunities.
