Graham Rahal Approaches Landmark 300th IndyCar Start
As the green flag waves at World Wide Technology Raceway this Sunday, Graham Rahal will celebrate a significant milestone—his 300th start in IndyCar competition. The 36-year-old driver, now in his 19th season, follows in the footsteps of his father, Bobby Rahal, whose career spanned 17 seasons from 1982 to 1998.
Graham, a veteran of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing since 2013, possesses an impressive career record, including six IndyCar victories, five poles, and 29 podium finishes since his debut in Champ Car in 2007. Reflecting on the milestone, Rahal remarked, “Three hundred races is hard to comprehend. It feels like yesterday was the first, and I don’t feel old enough to be at 300.”
Despite the longevity and changes in his career, Graham Rahal has maintained a stable position in his current team. His earlier years encompassed significant transitions, driving for notable teams such as Newman/Haas Racing, Chip Ganassi Racing, and a brief stint in 2023 with DRR/Cusick Motorsports.
“Celebrating this milestone is special,” Rahal stated. “There have not been a lot of guys that made it to 300, so it’s a big deal to me, and I take a lot of pride in that.”
As Rahal gears up for this remarkable event, he emphasizes the importance of the relationships built over his career, marking not just a personal achievement but a notable point in IndyCar history.
