Severe Weather Affects Milwaukee Mile Ahead of IndyCar Race

Heavy rainfall over the weekend has led to significant flooding at the Wisconsin State Fair Park, the venue for next week’s IndyCar Series event, the Snap-on Milwaukee 250, set for August 23-24. Floodwaters inundated the area, particularly filling the tunnel beneath Turn 4 to depths exceeding one foot.

Despite these challenges, IndyCar officials report that the track itself has sustained no damage. “Throughout last weekend, IndyCar checked in with the operations staff at Wisconsin State Fair Park. Our understanding is that there is no damage to the track; however, we are planning to send a crew this week to confirm,” stated the series in a Tuesday update.

As conditions improve and water levels recede, preparations are underway to transition from the state fair operations to hosting the upcoming race. IndyCar emphasized its commitment to maintaining open communication with local staff, ensuring readiness for what promises to be an exciting event as the 2025 NTT IndyCar Series and Indy NXT by Firestone seasons approach their conclusion.
