IndyCar Mid-Ohio 200: Scott Dixon Claims Victory After Alex Palou’s Mistake
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, July 6, 2025 – Scott Dixon secured a crucial victory in the IndyCar series at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, marking the 59th win of his illustrious career. The seasoned driver showcased strategic prowess, leveraging a two-stop fuel strategy to capitalize on a late mistake by teammate Alex Palou.
With strong family support in attendance, Dixon initially operated under the shadow of Palou, who appeared on track for his seventh win in ten races this season. However, a critical error by Palou with just six laps remaining allowed Dixon to gain the lead. Palou commented on the incident, stating, “Just lost it a little bit on entry and then couldn’t really get power going on. Nobody to blame but me.”
Dixon swiftly surged ahead and maintained his position through the final laps, finishing 0.4201 seconds ahead of Palou. "It was definitely a tough race. Full credit to everybody at Chip Ganassi Racing. We had fantastic cars," Dixon reflected post-race.
Dixon’s victory not only adds another milestone to his career but also extends his streak of consecutive seasons with at least one win to 21.
