Siegel received a drive-through penalty for blocking Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin, which he vocally criticized over the team radio, expressing frustration with explicit language that was broadcast to viewers.

In a subsequent statement on Wednesday, Siegel issued an apology, acknowledging his outburst as a regrettable mistake. “What happened on Sunday, I had an outburst on the radio that should not have happened,” he said. Siegel emphasized respect for McLaughlin, Team Penske, and the IndyCar series, adding, “It’s a pressure cooker in IndyCar… I let that get to me when I shouldn’t have.”
