IndyCar Series at Iowa Speedway: Notable Viewer Gains and Race Results
The recent Sukup-sponsored doubleheader at Iowa Speedway marked a significant chapter in this season’s IndyCar Series on FOX, showcasing both compelling race outcomes and audience engagement.
In Saturday’s 275-lap race, Pato O’Ward of Arrow McLaren secured victory, granting Chevrolet its first win of the season. The race attracted an average of 576,000 viewers—an impressive 696% increase compared to last year’s equivalent event, which suffered due to NBC’s coverage of a high-profile news incident. Despite this surge, Saturday’s numbers represent the second-smallest audience of the season, peaking at 906,000 viewers between 7:15 and 7:22 PM.
Sunday’s race saw Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou take the win, garnering an average of 719,000 viewers. This figure reflects a 17.1% decrease from the 867,554 viewers who watched the Sunday race in 2022 on NBC. Peak viewership for this race reached 848,000 from 3:00 to 3:14 PM.
With 12 of 17 races completed this season, the IndyCar Series on FOX has recorded an average audience of 1,606,000 viewers, representing a 27% increase over last year’s average of 1,262,000 viewers across NBC and associated platforms.
As the season progresses, continued audience growth remains a focal point for the league and its broadcasting partners.
