Rinus VeeKay Joins Juncos Hollinger Racing as Lead Driver
Rinus VeeKay has been announced as the new lead driver for Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR), marking a pivotal return to the team where he initially rose to prominence. At 25, VeeKay brings a wealth of experience from his early career, including his 2018 USF Pro 2000 championship win and a successful stint in Indy Lights.
VeeKay returns to Team Chevy after a recent season with Honda-powered Dale Coyne Racing, where he finished 14th in the championship. He replaces Conor Daly, who finished 18th last season, and aims to strengthen JHR’s performance moving forward.
“I’m excited to officially announce my move to Juncos Hollinger Racing,” VeeKay stated. “This is a team with real momentum, high ambitions, and a clear vision for the future.”
Signed through 2026, VeeKay’s addition signals JHR’s commitment to improving its standings in the competitive IndyCar landscape. Team Principal Dave O’Neill highlighted the ambition to build a program capable of sustained performance, emphasizing VeeKay’s history of success with the team.
Notably, VeeKay’s move coincides with JHR’s ongoing struggle for consistency amid frequent driver changes. JHR has yet to achieve significant results and hopes to refine its street and road course packages in anticipation of a more competitive season.
The team is also expected to finalize its driver lineup, with rumors surrounding Sting Ray Robb’s potential continuation alongside VeeKay. As JHR embarks on its fifth full season in IndyCar, expectations are high for VeeKay to deliver immediate results and contribute to the team’s long-term vision.
O’Neill expressed confidence in VeeKay’s ability to elevate the team’s competitiveness, underscoring his combination of speed, consistency, and race craft.
“As we work hard to assemble the right mix of talent, Rinus will play a central role in that progress,” O’Neill added.
As the 2026 season approaches, VeeKay’s performance could dictate not only his future with JHR but also potential opportunities with front-running teams in subsequent seasons.
