Buchanan, Michigan – The second SMX Next – Scouting Moto Combine unfolded today at RedBud MX, gathering over 20 promising motocross prospects. This event, designed as a platform for emerging talent, featured two qualifying sessions followed by two motos, with additional educational elements about the professional motocross circuit.

Event Overview
The Scouting Moto Combine provides riders an opportunity to showcase their skills to OEMs and industry stakeholders. Although there are podium finishes, no championship standings are awarded. Notably absent was rider Seth Dennis, who announced via Instagram he would not compete.

Qualifying Sessions
The morning’s start practices led into qualifying, where Team Green Kawasaki’s Enzo Temmerman and Landen Gordon set the pace. Carson Wood experienced a bike issue early in the session, appearing at mechanics’ row while the field launched into their first laps. He quickly resolved the issue and recorded the fastest lap of the session at 2:05.849, surpassing Gordon’s 2:07.084 and Jesson Turner’s 2:07.804.

The time sheets indicated that eight of the top ten fastest laps were clocked on the second lap, reflecting the riders’ acclimatization to the track’s challenging conditions. The surface remains deep but fast, and track adjustments from preceding amateur practice sessions are expected to influence the upcoming motos.
