Aaron Plessinger to Sit Out Final Rounds of 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship

MURRIETA, Calif. – In a significant development for the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has announced that Aaron Plessinger will not compete in the final three rounds due to persistent health issues.

Plessinger, a 29-year-old rider from Ohio, started the season strongly, achieving two overall podiums at the Hangtown and Thunder Valley Nationals. However, he has faced a challenging run, registering three consecutive motos without any points, including a 6th place DNF at RedBud and a 39th place DNS at Spring Creek.

The decision to sit out comes after Plessinger was advised by his medical team to prioritize recovery over competition. He had initially intended to return for the upcoming round at Ironman Raceway but has chosen to focus on his health instead.

"I’m getting older, and it’s just time for me to do some deep-diving into my health," Plessinger stated. "Going from leading motos to DNFs is not healthy for me. I’m already missing seeing the fans and my team every weekend, but I will be back real soon."

Plessinger currently holds fourth place in the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) standings and aims for a return during the playoffs, starting with Playoff 1 at zMAX Dragway in Concord, North Carolina, on September 6.

In his absence, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing will field teammates Tom Vialle and Julien Beaumer, along with reigning 450MX Champion Chase Sexton, at Round 9 of the Pro Motocross season this weekend.
