Willy Browning Appointed as Motocross Manager by AMA
PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has announced the appointment of Willy Browning as its new Motocross Manager. Browning, a seasoned figure in the motocross community with extensive experience as a former professional rider, will oversee the AMA’s amateur motocross program, liaise with rules commissions, and enhance chartered promoter partnerships.
“Willy Browning’s extensive background in American motocross—from youth competitor to regional champion—brings a wealth of knowledge that is invaluable to our organization,” stated AMA Chief Operating Officer James Holter. “His experience will help maintain AMA-sanctioned motocross as a premier, family-oriented sport.”
Browning, who is an AMA Charter Life Member, will report directly to AMA Deputy Director Mike Burkeen, who has acted as motocross manager since November 2019. In his new role, Browning aims to elevate the standard of AMA-sanctioned events, ensuring they meet member expectations.
“I’m looking forward to giving back to a sport that has given so much to me,” Browning remarked. “I’m excited about the future as I embark on this new chapter with the AMA.”
Alongside Browning, the AMA’s management team consists of Off-Road Racing Manager Logan Densmore and Track Racing Manager Ken Saillant. Together, they will implement initiatives to grow AMA membership, promote racing activities, and facilitate the introduction of new riders into motocross.
