Andrea Adamo Moves Up to MXGP with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing for 2026 Season
Former FIM MX2 World Champion Andrea Adamo, 22, has officially signed with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing to compete in the MXGP class for the 2026 season, transitioning from a successful MX2 career. Adamo finished third in the 2025 MX2 championship, securing 12 podiums and 4 victories, maintaining title contention until the penultimate round.
Having joined Red Bull KTM in 2023, Adamo claimed his first Grand Prix victory that season and captured the MX2 championship. Over three seasons in MX2, he secured 30 trophies with the KTM 250 SX-F, which has become a standout in FIM Motocross history, ranking 1st, 6th, and 3rd in overall standings.
Despite eligibility for another MX2 season, Adamo is set to begin testing the KTM 450 SX-F shortly with his current team. The upcoming 2026 season will kick off with pre-season races leading to the first Grand Prix on February 22.
Adamo expressed enthusiasm about the transition: “I feel very excited to move to the KTM 450 SX-F. It’s a new challenge, new bike, and a new style… I’m sure I will have a good winter with the team… We need to get experience with each race… I want to embrace the challenge.”
KTM’s management echoed confidence in Adamo’s capabilities, noting, “Andrea is a smart and hard-working racer… we’re confident in our KTM SX-F machinery and our champion and GP winner Andrea Adamo onboard for next year.”
With this move, Adamo aims to enhance Red Bull KTM’s competitive presence in the MXGP class starting next season.
