Haiden Deegan Returns to 250SX for 2026 Supercross Season
After making two wildcard appearances in the FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX), Haiden Deegan will return to the 250SX class for the upcoming 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season. Deegan, who secured the 2025 250SX West Division title and recently renewed his contract with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, is set to defend his championship status as he competes in the West Division, starting January 10 at Anaheim 1.
Despite his foray into the 450cc class, Deegan confirmed via Instagram that he will revert to the 250F for Supercross, although plans may evolve as the 2026 Monster Energy SMX World Championship approaches. His strategy includes utilizing the breaks in the 250SX East schedule for testing on the 450cc bike in preparation for the Pro Motocross series and the ensuing SMX playoffs.
Brian Deegan, Haiden’s father, elaborated on their approach, stating, “The plan is to race 250SX West, and use the off weeks to focus on testing the 450 back home.” Currently, there are no intentions to compete in 450 events during the eastern Supercross rounds.
In a notable shift, although the Yamaha team continues to partner with THOR, Deegan will wear Fox Racing gear moving forward. His recent Instagram caption reflected his excitement about returning to the 250, saying, “That’s a wrap on the 🇦🇺🦘tour, and sadly the 4faddy for a little while. Time to get back on the 2faddy and get ready for SX💪🏼.”
As anticipation builds for the 2026 Supercross season, all eyes will be on Deegan as he aims for another championship run with the #1W plate in the 250SX West Division.
