2027 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations Set for Assen

ERNEE, France — In a landmark announcement at the MXGP of France, officials confirmed the 2027 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations will return to the renowned TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. This year marks the 80th edition of the prestigious event, which will take place at the circuit known as “The Cathedral of Speed.”

This will be the tenth occasion the Motocross of Nations is hosted in the Netherlands, with historical roots tracing back to its inaugural event in Wassenaar. Assen has served as a pivotal location, first welcoming a World Motocross event in 2015 and hosting the 2019 Motocross of Nations where Team Netherlands achieved its first victory. That year, Jeffrey Herlings, Glenn Coldenhoff, and Calvin Vlaanderen delivered a commanding performance despite challenging weather conditions, securing the Chamberlain Trophy ahead of Belgium and Great Britain.

The configuration of the circuit, particularly its deep sandy terrain, poses unique challenges for riders. The main grandstands promise excellent viewing opportunities for the expected crowds, maintaining the tradition of high attendance at this celebrated venue.
