Pro Motocross Finale: Forkner Reflects on Growth Amid Challenges

In an eventful conclusion to the Pro Motocross season, Austin Forkner showcased a renewed confidence despite mixed results, indicating his readiness to reclaim his competitive edge. His performance highlighted a shift towards a more controlled riding style, reminiscent of his earlier days in the sport.

Forkner acknowledged that confidence plays a crucial role in his riding. “Yeah, it’s just confidence,” he stated, reflecting on his recent return to form. Fans noted glimpses of his trademark style at Millville, where he executed impressive whips, signaling his increasing comfort on the bike.

While no longer racing for Mitch Payton’s team, the bond remains strong. Forkner appreciates their ongoing support, stating, “I see Mitch and always give a little, ‘How’s it going, man?’ It’s respect; we still back each other from afar.” He credited them for their patience through injuries and tough times, asserting, “I’ve got a lot of wins for him, which I’m happy for.”

In a post-race statement from the finale, Forkner summarized his day succinctly: “It was not a great day, but it was not terrible either. I am happy to complete the season. I could not find a flow as the track broke down, but we learned a lot with the bike. Being healthy as we enter the postseason is a win.”

As the season closes, Forkner’s insights and evolving performance suggest he is poised to once again emerge as a formidable competitor in the motocross arena.
