Brandy Richards Triumphs at Wild Boar GNCC Despite Injury
In a remarkable display of resilience, Brandy Richards of FMF KTM Factory Racing clinched victory at the Wild Boar GNCC, overcoming the adversity of a fractured fibula sustained at the season opener on February 15. Despite the injury, which occurred during the Big Buck GNCC, Richards not only completed the race but secured a commendable second-place finish.
In her own words, Richards reflected on her dual experience at the event, stating, “Good news is that was the first mud race I actually felt comfortable in… I’m very happy with how I rode. My best start to a season with a 2nd. Bad news is I got in another fight with a tree on the third lap and broke my fibula in my left leg… but I’m happy I was able to finish strong.”
Richards has begun her recovery, with assistance from her medical team, specifically highlighting her gratitude towards Dr. Tanner from SOS Safety Onsite for facilitating her treatment. Her determination to compete and succeed amidst injury underscores the grueling nature of GNCC Racing and the dedication required at elite levels of the sport.
As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Richards to see how she manages her recovery while striving for continued success on the circuit.
