McAdoo Adjusts Goals Ahead of Upcoming Season
After facing a series of injuries throughout his career, motocross athlete Cameron McAdoo has recalibrated his objectives for the upcoming season. While his ultimate aim remains victory, he acknowledges that consistent finishes are essential to achieve that goal.
“My primary focus is on maintaining my health throughout the racing season and having a steady performance,” McAdoo stated. “Winning is always the end goal, but there are crucial steps along the way. If my team can provide the necessary support, I believe we have the right components to succeed.”
McAdoo has been working closely with trainer Nick Wey since joining Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki in 2020, refining his training regimen to enhance both his strengths and mitigate weaknesses. “This year, my program is largely the same, with adjustments based on previous evaluations to ensure ongoing improvement.”
This off-season, McAdoo increased his strength training, aiming to boost durability following a knee injury that sidelined him. “I used my time away from the bike to focus on building strength. While cardio has always been a strong aspect for me, it was important to work on muscle development as well,” he explained.
With the season approaching, McAdoo is determined to put his best foot forward, emphasizing the importance of using the off-season effectively to prepare both physically and mentally.
