Budds Creek, MD – The final round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Budds Creek Motocross Park witnessed a challenging outing for Canadian riders Dylan Wright and Cole Pranger over the weekend. Both experienced significant crashes, leading to serious injuries and hospital visits.
Dylan Wright, a multi-time Canadian MX Champion, participated in the 450 Class. After qualifying 17th, he crashed during the second group B session, resulting in a fractured T4 vertebra. Although no broken ribs were found, doctors indicated potential cartilage damage. Wright managed to return home to Quebec later that day.
Cole Pranger, making his AMA Motocross debut, faced a severe crash shortly after the finish line during the opening 250 Class moto, which prompted a red flag and restart. He sustained a broken femur in his right leg. Despite his injury, Pranger maintained a positive outlook, stating, "Still pumped I got in!" He is scheduled for surgery in the U.S. following the event.
Both riders’ incidents underline the inherent risks of motocross, showcasing resilience in the face of adversity. Their recovery will be closely monitored as they aim to return to competition.
