Casey Cochran to Miss 2025 Motocross Season Due to Injury
Southwick, MA – Casey Cochran of the Rockstar Energy GasGas Factory Racing team has officially been sidelined for the remainder of the 2025 motocross season following a crash during the 250MX qualifying at the Southwick National. Cochran sustained a dislocated shoulder, which has been confirmed to include ligament damage necessitating surgery next week.
Prior to the accident, Cochran had shown formidable speed, securing the ninth-fastest time during the initial practice session of the day. His promising season, marked by a comeback from a broken femur that kept him out of the AMA Supercross series, included two top-10 finishes across the first four rounds. Notably, he led five laps of Moto 1 and achieved the holeshot in Moto 2 at Round 2 in Hangtown.
Sean Murphy, Team Manager of Rockstar Energy GasGas Factory Racing, remarked, “It’s a tough break for Casey, especially after the adversity he’s already battled. He’s shown incredible determination, and we were confident in his ability to deliver a strong outdoor season.”
The team expresses full support for Cochran during his recovery, emphasizing confidence in his work ethic and determination to return to competition as soon as medically possible.
