Chase Sexton Joins Monster Energy Kawasaki: A Major Shift in 2026
Chase Sexton has officially transitioned from Red Bull KTM to Monster Energy Kawasaki, marking a significant change in his career and the third manufacturer he has ridden for since the onset of the 2023 season. The Illinois native’s new deal is a three-year contract, reflecting his desire for stability after two previous two-year stints.
On the latest PulpMX Show with host Steve Matthes, Sexton emphasized the long-term vision behind his move, stating, “I really don’t want to switch teams anymore. I wanted to be confident in my decision, so I went with three, and yeah, I’m excited.” This announcement follows months of speculation regarding his impending switch.
Sexton, who previously rode for Honda HRC and then KTM, articulated his goal of finding a permanent home within the sport. While he had no prior relationship with Kawasaki Team Manager Dan Fahey before discussions began, he expressed enthusiasm about the team and its culture, noting a nostalgic desire to ride for Team Green from his amateur days.
“It’s kind of funny now to come full circle and be on the main team,” Sexton added, illustrating his long-standing aspiration to join Kawasaki’s esteemed ranks.
With Sexton’s addition, Monster Energy Kawasaki is positioned for an impactful 2026 season, spurred by his competitive pedigree and commitment to the team.
