Report: CJ Benard Injured in AMA Pro Motocross Championship Finale

AEO Powersports KTM Racing’s rookie rider CJ Benard faced a severe crash during the second qualifying session for the 250 Class at the AMA Pro Motocross Championship finale. Midway through the session, Benard miscalculated a jump on the Big Gulp triple, resulting in a hard fall that prompted a red flag for medical assistance.

Following the incident, Benard provided an update via Instagram, revealing a dislocated hip, a fractured sternum, and a broken rib. He stated, "I ended up hitting a kicker on a lip in Q2 on Saturday and just wasn’t expecting it," detailing the severity of his injuries.

Benard concluded the season ranked 33rd in the 250 Class Championship, with his best performance being a 19th overall finish at the Washougal National, registering 20-18 moto results. He mentioned plans for surgery to remove a bone fragment lodged in his hip joint.

The motorsports community is rallying around Benard as he navigates this challenging setback.
