Webb Clinches 2025 AMA Supercross Championship: A Return to Form
PALA, CA – Cooper Webb secured the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship at Fox Raceway, marking a significant comeback for the Newport, North Carolina native. This victory is particularly meaningful for Webb, who had faced adversity since his last title in 2021, emphasizing the effort and dedication that defined his season.
“Definitely the best one yet,” Webb stated, reflecting on his triumph after the grueling season. “The gap between championships made this one feel particularly deserved, especially after the ups and downs I’ve faced.”
After finishing second in the previous season, Webb entered 2025 with renewed vigor, attributing his success to a rigorous off-season training regimen despite an early injury setback in December that delayed his preparations. “I was able to make it to the gate at Anaheim 1 and go full steam ahead from there. We set our goal early to win the championship, and we achieved that,” he explained.
Webb’s performance in 2025 was characterized by a quick start, with early podium finishes and decisive wins setting the tone for his championship run. His ability to maintain momentum throughout the season was crucial, propelling him to the top of the standings.
This victory also represents a redemption arc for Webb with Yamaha, with whom he struggled during his initial tenure from 2013 to 2018. “Yamaha took a second chance on me, and I was able to return the favor,” Webb noted, highlighting the collaboration and support from his team, including Star Racing and Monster Energy.
At 29 years old, Webb has become the oldest rider to win the championship, adding a significant milestone to his career. “As a father, it’s incredibly special. The relief of achieving this again is beyond words,” he concluded.
With the 2025 season in the books, Webb’s achievement underlines a remarkable comeback and sets the stage for future challenges as he looks to build upon this success in the upcoming AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
