Race Report: Davies Achieves Sprint Dominance with First Win of 2026

In an impressive display of skill, rider Davies secured a remarkable 1-1-1 sweep during the latest round of competitions, marking his first victory of the 2026 season. Starting third in the first two races and fourth in the final, Davies executed proficiently to clinch the lead and ultimately the win in all three heats.

Reflecting on his performance, Davies noted the significance of execution during his starts: “I just say it’s more executing. The first two starts of the season were a bit weird with the short straights and imperfections in the track.” He emphasized a shift in mindset, stating, “I kind of calmed down a bit and just let the race come to me,” which proved crucial in his success.

His strategic adjustment contributed to a consistent progression throughout the series. Despite the late start to his win tally this season, Davies expressed confidence in his improvements and focus on learning from past experiences. “Just confidence, experience, learning from last year, and putting it all into this year,” he explained.

With a current standing of 64 points, Davies now leads the championship, narrowly ahead of Seth Hammaker by just one point and Yamaha teammate Pierce Brown alongside Jo Shimoda by two points. His finishes of 5-2-1 in prior rounds demonstrate steady growth, while his three victories (and six total podiums) in 12 main event starts solidify his competitiveness.

Notably, Davies aims to build on his previous successes, having won one of his two races as a rookie in an East/West Showdown last year. As attention intensifies, he will carry a new target on his YZ250F into the Birmingham SX 250SX East/West Showdown scheduled for March 21.
