KTM Unveils 2026 Lineup with Eli Tomac and Jorge Prado on KTM 450 SX-F Factory Editions
In a significant team announcement today, KTM introduced Eli Tomac and Jorge Prado, set to compete on the 2026 KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition machines. This marks a notable transition for Tomac, who has spent his professional career on Yamaha bikes, while Prado returns to a familiar platform.
A key technical highlight on Tomac’s new machine is the integration of a cable clutch. Traditionally, KTM’s 450cc models have utilized a hydraulic clutch system. Tomac has been using a cable clutch on his Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing bike since the start of the 2022 season, raising questions about his adjustment to the new setup and the steel frame, contrasting with the aluminum frames he’s accustomed to.
As the season approaches, the primary focus will be on how quickly Tomac can acclimate to the changes in both bike and clutch system. The industry watches closely, with Tomac stating, “I’m fully Ready to Race and eager to tackle these new challenges.”
