FIM World Supercross Championship Welcomes Electric Entry and Signs Geneva Agreement

London, UK – August 21, 2025: The FIM World Supercross Championship has heralded a new era in the sport with the signing of the Geneva Agreement, solidifying a three-year commitment among the championship and its seven teams, including the groundbreaking entry of Stark Future as the first fully electric team to compete in the series.

The Geneva Agreement is designed to enhance fan engagement by ensuring top-tier rider participation and sustained investment in team development. It guarantees financial support for all competing teams through to the end of the 2027 season, including a seven-figure prize fund aimed at fostering a more competitive environment.

Tom Burwell, CEO of World Supercross, emphasized, "The Geneva Agreement marks a significant milestone, ensuring top-level rider lineups that raise the bar for competition." He noted the agreement’s long-term financial stability as pivotal for the teams and the future of the sport.

Rick Ware, Team Principal of Rick Ware Racing, remarked, “This agreement provides a crucial foundation for teams… It’s about stability and growth for everyone involved.”

Stark Future is set to debut its Stark Varg electric bike against traditional combustion-engine teams, including Pipes Motorsports Group and Quad Lock Honda, at Round 01 of the 2025 season at the Malaysian GP in Kuala Lumpur on October 18. The Barcelona-based team will be led by former motocross champion Sébastien Tortelli.

Kurt Nicoll, Vice President of Race Development, highlighted the significance of this integration: “For the first time in our championship, fans will witness electric and combustion bikes racing together on equal terms.” This unprecedented shift represents a pivotal moment for the sport, pushing boundaries in racing dynamics.

Stark Future has worked closely with the FIM to achieve performance parity and safety regulations for the Varg, which features 36 onboard sensors to ensure competitive integrity.

Anton Wass, CEO of Stark Future, stated, “This is the beginning of a new chapter… We know we’re fast out the gate, so it’s going to be a really exciting challenge.”
