Tomac’s Tough Night at Glendale Supercross

Eli Tomac faced a challenging main event at the Glendale Supercross, falling short of his expectations after entering as the championship leader. The Red Bull KTM rider qualified second overall, just behind teammate Jorge Prado, with both riders claiming dominant victories in their respective heat races.

In the main event, Tomac struggled from the start. As the gate dropped, he was caught in a first-turn incident involving Christian Craig, who crashed and subsequently took Tomac and Colt Nichols down with him. Though Tomac initially appeared to be slow to recover, he was eventually able to remount his bike, albeit from the last position on the track.

Once back in the race, Tomac found his pace, clocking some of the fastest lap times in the latter half, though he remained outside the top ten. He ultimately crossed the finish line in 12th place.

Post-race, Tomac provided insights into the incident. “I just put myself in a position where bad things can happen,” he stated. “I got a little pinched, and then I got taken out by Craig. It took me a little while to get warmed up again, but I managed to get back to 12th. The good thing is we’re not too far down, and we’re fine.”

As the series progresses, Tomac and his team will need to regroup ahead of the next round, ensuring they address the challenges faced in Glendale.
