Daytona Supercross: Evan Ferry Marks Milestone with First Main Event Finish
In a significant achievement for his career, Evan Ferry completed his first Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250SX main event at the Daytona International Speedway on Saturday night. This marks a pivotal moment for Ferry, who debuted at the 2024 Detroit Supercross but faced early elimination due to a start line pile-up.
After battling injuries, including an Achilles tendon issue sustained at Anaheim 1 in 2025, Ferry has made only ten starts since his initial Supercross appearance. He began the 2026 season on a challenging note, finishing 10th in the Arlington SX Last Chance Qualifier.
At Daytona, Ferry advanced directly to the main event after securing seventh place in his heat race. Despite a crash at the first turn during the main, he managed to complete the race, ultimately finishing 21st. This achievement comes 756 days after his debut, an interval marked by setbacks and determination.
Ferry reflected on his performance in a post-race release, stating, “It was a big step in the right direction tonight… I went down in the first turn and ended up just riding it home… I’m really happy with my heat race performance… we made a few changes to the bike this weekend, and they definitely improved it. We’ll just keep building from here.”
Ferry’s journey illustrates resilience in the highly competitive realm of Supercross as he aims for further progress in upcoming races.
