Dean Wilson Returns for Final Rounds of 450SX Championship
Dean Wilson will re-enter the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship for the final five rounds of the 450SX series, riding for the Quad Lock Honda team. This decision comes after a year focused on part-time racing; Wilson had previously filled in for factory Honda HRC Progressive due to the injuries of both Jett and Hunter Lawrence.
After concluding the previous season with a 17th place finish in the 450 SuperMotocross standings, Wilson secured the AUSX Supercross Championship in Australia. In the 2025 Salt Lake City SX finale, he finished seventh and made a notable appearance during the opening ceremonies as “Grandpa Earl,” a popular YouTube character he created.
In his previous five 450SX starts, Wilson recorded finishes of 17th, 9th, 10th, 10th, and 7th aboard the factory Honda CRF450R Works Edition. He boasts a career total of 74 top-ten finishes in the 450SX class, raising the question of his potential to increase that number in these last rounds of competition.
Reflecting on his upcoming return, Wilson shared on Instagram: “I have no fckn clue on where I sit in this 450 class. I don’t think my speed is amazing right now, but I’ve put in a good effort over the last few weeks. I’m just excited to be back at the races.”
The 450SX series continues with its next round in Nashville, where Wilson will aim to build on his previous experience and recent efforts on the track.
