Gavin Towers Withdraws from 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship Due to Knee Injury

Gavin Towers has announced that a knee injury will sideline him for the remainder of the 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) season. The Pennsylvania native disclosed his injury following the High Point National, where he achieved his best overall finish in the first four rounds of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, finishing 24th and 19th in respective motos for a 23rd overall result.

In a statement on Instagram, Towers revealed the seriousness of his condition, citing a fully torn ACL and lateral meniscus. “I’ve been dealing with a steady knee issue for about a year,” he stated, explaining that the injury was sustained just days before the High Point race.

Towers, currently ranked 29th in the 250 Class championship standings and 37th in the 250SMX standings, indicated he would begin the recovery process immediately, saying, “Thank you to the whole @phxracinghonda crew for sticking with me. See you in 2026.”

This injury marks a significant setback for Towers as the SMX series progresses, impacting his career momentum in a crucial championship year.
