Deegan’s Victory Overturned in 250SX Showdown
In a dramatic turn of events at the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, Haiden Deegan, riding for Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, claimed what appeared to be a hard-fought victory in the first 250SX East/West Showdown. After starting outside the top ten, Deegan executed a remarkable race strategy, ultimately crossing the line first. This marked his sixth consecutive win of the season and second career victory in the Showdown.
However, the post-race scrutiny revealed that Deegan had illegally navigated the split lane by cutting through track markers, an action that violated race regulations. Following a review by AMA officials, he received a one-position penalty.
As a result, Cole Davies, also from Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, was elevated to the top spot, marking his second consecutive win in the 250SX East series. Official results now reflect Davies as the race winner.
This incident underscores the critical importance of adherence to track rules, as even a momentary lapse can drastically alter race outcomes.
