Moto2 Race Report: Hymas Dominates in Round of Pro Motocross
In a commanding performance during the final Moto2 event, Ryder Hymas secured a flawless victory, completing an impressive day at the Pro Motocross series. Hymas emerged victorious with a wire-to-wire win, finishing 11.1 seconds ahead of his closest rival, Haiden Deegan.
Hymas set the tone early, sweeping the holeshots and establishing a multi-second lead within the first few laps. Deegan, initially in pursuit, encountered a challenge from Tom Vialle, who briefly seized second place. However, a bobble by Vialle allowed Deegan to regain his position, while Jo Shimoda of Team Honda HRC Progressive settled into fourth.
As the race progressed, Hymas and Deegan distanced themselves from the pack, leading by over 10 seconds. Shimoda managed to overtake Vialle for third place, solidifying his spot on the podium. With ten minutes remaining, Deegan attempted to close the gap to Hymas but suffered a fall that set him back by over eight seconds. He recovered quickly, maintaining second place despite the setback.
In a late-race surge, Levi Kitchen of Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki gained momentum, overtaking Vialle and applying pressure on Shimoda in the closing laps. However, Shimoda held firm, finishing third as Kitchen crossed the line shortly thereafter.
Hymas’s victory marked a perfect afternoon, underscoring his dominance in the series, while Deegan and Kitchen rounded out the podium, finishing 43 seconds behind Hymas.
